We are getting increasing interest in our ‘Extra Eye‘ First Article inspection system, which has recently been upgraded to provide more ‘AOI‘ features, The Extra Eye 3030 is an automated way of inspecting the first-off of a batch of PCB’s to ensure that it matches up with the Bill of Materials and circuit drawing, and compares them with the board that has been assembled. It is a camera based system that scans the board and the software stores the BOM, an electronic copy of the drawing, and the parts list. It steps through each line item and verifies that it is correct according the the data that has been fed in. It is vastly quicker than doing the job by hand, and is a repeatable controlled process. It picks up kitting errors or misplacements before they move further down the line where they are much more expensive to correct.
